We are seeking a dedicated, highly organised, and student-focused Accommodation Manager to lead the effective operation and management of the University’s accommodation facilities – a proactive professional who can build positive relationships with students and colleagues, oversee day-to-day accommodation operations, respond effectively to challenges, and ensure that University policies, procedures, and standards are consistently maintained.

The Accommodation Manager will play a key role in creating and maintaining a safe, secure, inclusive, and supportive living environment for students. The position combines operational leadership, student welfare, facilities coordination, health and safety compliance, resident services, and stakeholder engagement.

Job Summary

The Accommodation Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, operational management, regulatory compliance, student welfare coordination, safety enforcement, and day-to-day supervision of UTB accommodation facilities.

The role requires a hands-on, service-oriented approach, ensuring high standards of resident experience, facility management, safety, security, and compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with students, staff, contractors, service providers, and security personnel to support the effective operation of accommodation services.

The Accommodation Manager may be required to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and outside normal working hours in response to operational requirements or emergencies. The successful candidate must also be willing to participate in an emergency on-call rota when required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of UTB accommodation facilities, ensuring a safe, secure, well-maintained, and supportive living environment.
• Oversee room allocations, occupancy management, transfers, check-in and check-out procedures, accommodation agreements, and resident records.
• Ensure compliance with accommodation policies, health and safety requirements, and all applicable laws and regulations in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
• Supervise accommodation facilities, including bedrooms, kitchens, study areas, laundry facilities, lounges, and other communal spaces, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and appropriate use.
• Enforce resident conduct regulations, address complaints and policy breaches, and support disciplinary processes in accordance with University procedures.
• Promote student welfare and wellbeing, including supporting the needs of international students and fostering an inclusive and respectful residential community.
• Manage health, safety, security, and emergency procedures, including incident response and coordination with security personnel and relevant University departments.
• Oversee access control systems, including keys, access cards, visitor management procedures, CCTV coordination, and related security measures.
• Manage accommodation fees, deposits, fines, damage recovery, and associated financial and administrative processes.
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure the timely identification and resolution of maintenance, safety, hygiene, and facility-related issues.
• Manage accommodation termination, eviction, and abandoned property procedures in accordance with University policies and applicable legislation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records relating to accommodation operations, incidents, finances, resident matters, and disciplinary cases, ensuring confidentiality and appropriate data management.
• Apply accommodation policies fairly, consistently, and professionally while safeguarding student welfare and University property.
• Liaise effectively with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, and external service providers to ensure efficient accommodation operations.
• Provide support outside normal working hours, including evenings, weekends, public holidays, and emergency on-call duties when required.
• Undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Immediate Superior.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Property Management, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an advantage.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ relevant professional experience in student housing, university accommodation, hospitality, property management, facilities management, student services, customer service, residential management, or a related area.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic.
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working within a university, educational institution, residential setting, or multicultural environment.
• Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in accommodation management, residential management, facilities management, hospitality, property management, or student services will be an advantage.
• Experience managing student accommodation facilities or residential communities.
• Experience in health and safety management, emergency response, incident management, and residential compliance.

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
• Ability to enforce policies and procedures fairly, consistently, and respectfully.
• Strong customer service orientation and a commitment to delivering an excellent resident experience.
• Ability to remain calm and effective when responding to complaints, emergencies, incidents, and challenging situations.
• A proactive and hands-on approach to identifying issues and implementing practical solutions.
