Job Requirements:

Responsible for ensuring the safety of the airport environment through effective response to aircraft emergencies, firefighting, rescue operations, and hazardous material incidents. The candidate will possess a strong sense of duty, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform under pressure in challenging situations.

Major Duties and Responsibilites:

• Responsible for fire suppression, rescue, and medical emergencies at assigned duty location.

• Ensures equipment is in a state of readiness for all requests of emergency services.

• Participates in daily roll call before the start of shift and any meetings requested by the Fire Chief or designee.

• Performs all required proficiency training.

• Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.

• Ability to quickly perform and direct all functions in difficult and hazardous situations, without hesitation.

• Ability to comprehend and apply instructions and communicate information in a clear and concise manner.

• Ability to learn, apply and teach aircraft rescue and firefighting techniques and practices.

• Ability to perform physically demanding work and withstand very hazardous conditions.

• Reports to the Fire Chief or his Designee.

• All other duties as assigned by the Fire Chief, Assistant Chiefs, Station Captains, or Lieutenants of the Fire Department.
