Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning:

• Deliver undergraduate and/or graduate teaching in accordance with the curriculum at DMU.
• Prepare and update teaching materials, conduct lectures, tutorials, practicals, and clinical teaching sessions as required.
• Supervise and assess students’ research, projects and examinations.
• Incorporate innovative teaching methodologies, including the use of technology and simulation where appropriate.
• Provide academic advising and mentoring to students.

Research & Scholarly Activity:

• Develop and maintain an active research agenda aligned with the university’s research priorities.
• Publish in Scopus-indexed journals and present findings at highly reputed conferences.
• Seek external funding for research projects and contribute to collaborative research initiatives.

Service & Administration:

• Contribute to departmental, college, and university committees and activities.
• Participate in curriculum development and accreditation processes.
• Engage in community service and outreach activities.
• Contribute to faculty development initiatives.

Qualifications & experience

Professor:

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the relevant field.
• Minimum of 10 years of teaching and research experience in higher education after the terminal degree, with evidence of significant contributions to the field.
• Strong publication record and demonstrated academic leadership.

Associate Professor:

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching and research experience in higher education after the terminal degree.
• Solid publication record and evidence of professional and academic achievements.

Assistant Professor:

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the relevant field.
• Demonstrated potential in teaching, research, and service.
• Previous experience in higher education or postdoctoral training is preferred.
