Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

• Assist in planning and supervising daily slitting operations as per the production schedule.
• Ensure timely completion of slitting jobs while meeting quality and productivity targets.
• Monitor machine performance, downtime, and production output.
• Coordinate machine setup, job changeovers, and material availability.
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.

Quality Control

• Verify slit roll dimensions, winding quality, edge quality, and appearance as per specifications.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and quality standards.
• Investigate and report quality issues, defects, and non-conformities.
• Coordinate with the Quality Department for inspections and corrective actions.

Team Management

• Supervise operators and assistant operators during shifts.
• Allocate tasks and monitor employee performance.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to production staff.
• Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to company policies.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company regulations.
• Promote safe working practices within the department.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards following 5S principles.
• Report unsafe conditions and incidents promptly.

Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

• Coordinate with the Maintenance Department for machine breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
• Assist in troubleshooting machine and process-related issues.
• Support waste reduction, efficiency improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and control material wastage and rework.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain production records, shift reports, downtime reports, and quality records.
• Monitor production KPIs and prepare reports as required.
• Ensure accurate recording of production data in ERP or reporting systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Equivalent technical qualification with relevant industry experience may be considered.

Experience

• 10–12 years of experience in the flexible packaging industry.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in slitting operations or a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of slitting machines, flexible packaging materials, and quality requirements.
