Job Overview
· Electricians install, maintain, diagnose faults and repair electrical wiring and computer-based equipment in mining fleet. Specifically, they will diagnose service and repair faults on electronically controlled equipment.
· In addition, they will test, replace, recondition, and install equipment such as generators, alternators, starter motors and batteries. They will also repair or replace faulty ignition, electrical wiring, fuses, lamps, and switches and use specialized electrical tools and machines
Responsibilities and Duties
§ Use diagnostic equipment to locate electrical and electronic problems
§ Carry out tests to diagnose the faulty component
§ Record any other potential faults the diagnostic test equipment tells them are likely to occur in the future
§ Repair automotive electrical systems
§ Replace electrical component on plant equipment
§ Clean and test components
§ Analyses computer-related systems for purpose of diagnosing computer system component and providing needed repairs
§ Assist ordering of parts and equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items as need
§ Fills work orders and prepares documentation for purpose of tracking labour and parts information to comply with regulating guidance
§ Reads, understand, applies electrical and hydraulic schematics for the purpose of performing needed repairs/ replacement within specifications
§ Replaces defective parts or systems for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition
§ Respond to emergency calls for the purpose of resolving immediate safe concerns
§ Following site safety rules and regulations
§ Or another task as requested by supervisor
Education Level: Technical Auto electrician
Years of Experience: 0 - 4
Specific Skills / Competencies
§ College or related tradesman school Certificate (background proof docs)
§ Excellent verbal and communication skills
§ Good interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
§ Able to work with low and medium Voltage, not limited for only one preferable.
§ Knowledge in A/C electrical repairs and gas filling
§ Must use informatic tools as ET, SIS, STAR etc.
§ Dealer CAT work experience preferable.
