Job Purpose / Objective:

Responsible for routine and basic technical tasks in CSSD with strict adherence to JCIA/ CBAHI Standards including documentation, sterilization, packaging, storage and distribution of sterile items as well as receiving all contaminated used items from the assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

3.1 Receive all used contaminated items from different assigned areas.

3.2 Decontaminate the received items manually and mechanically by using ultrasonic cleaner/ automated cart washers.

3.3 Label the prepared package using proper labeling technique.

3.4 Load and unloading sterilizers properly.

3.5 Adhere to infection control requirements by using PPE.

3.6 Assembles and packing instrument-sets using proper packaging material and technique.

3.7 Demonstrate an understanding and awareness of asepsis principles in all stages of processing.

3.8 Store the sterilized sets/ items properly until needed.

3.9 Demonstrate an understanding of quality control by using chemical indicator.

3.10 Perform disinfecting process as needed and as per the policy and procedure.

3.11 Transport and delivering the sterile packages to the units in proper way.

3.12 Perform the daily testing of sterilizer (warm-up cycle, Bowie and Dick test, Spore test and leak test.)

3.13 Perform all delegated tasks assigned by the Supervisor with scope of competency.

3.14 Adhere to JCIA / CBAHI Standards. 3.15 Participate in conducting education and training sessions.

3.16 Reports any unusual incident, missing, broken, damaged and out of order machine, instruments to immediate supervisor.

3.17 Acts up for CSSD Supervisor during absence. 3.18 Assists Supervisor in evaluating and monitoring staff performance.

3.19 Demonstrate ability to handle and operate the following machine/ equipment:

3.19.1 Ultrasonic Machine 3.19.2 B.I. Incubator 3.19.3 Washer Disinfector 3.19.4 Sealing Device 3.19.5 Steam Sterilizer

3.20 Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.

3.21 Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.

3.22 Perform other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities

Requirements

Education/ Professional Qualification:

1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Experience:

1. Minimum of at least 1 year working experience in same specialty

Professional Licensing / Certification / Training:

1. BLS, or relevant certifications 2. Valid Saudi Council & Licensed from Country of origin
