Operate electronic or laser engraving machines for gravure printing cylinders used in flexible packaging.

• Prepare and process cylinder engraving jobs according to approved artwork, job specifications, and production instructions.
• Verify job details, cylinder identification, repeat size, screen ruling, engraving specifications, and artwork before starting production.
• Ensure correct engraving depth, cell structure, screen angles, and image quality as per approved standards.
• Coordinate with the prepress, artwork, cylinder preparation, and printing departments to ensure smooth production.
• Inspect engraved cylinders for defects, including missing cells, scratches, uneven engraving, and image distortion.
• Monitor machine performance and report technical problems, engraving errors, or quality deviations to the supervisor.
• Maintain proper job records, cylinder details, production reports, and machine operating parameters.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of engraving equipment as instructed.
• Follow approved procedures for handling cylinders, tools, chemicals, and other materials.
• Maintain workplace cleanliness and comply with company quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Minimize engraving errors, cylinder rework, material waste, and production downtime.
