Job Summary

Health and Safety Engineer will be responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day operation activities in the Plant and ensuring jobs are completed in safe manner. He is also responsible for supervising the contractor’s work at site and providing support to the project management team (supervisors, foremen and workers). He is also responsible for Safety & environmental compliance of the various regulatory bodies (Port Authority, RC-EPCD, NCEC)

Candidate Profile

Responsibilities

• Implement and sustain company HSE program
• Monitor the workplace to ensure activities are being performed with acceptable safety norms. Ensuring health and safety of workers at site.
• Ensuring the contractors/subcontractors follows safety procedure, gets the induction training and works after obtaining necessary work permits.
• Identifying the hazardous and unsafe condition and ensuring their rectification.
• Assessing risk and possible safety hazards of all aspects of operations i.e. Physical hazards, chemical hazards, radiation hazards, electrical hazards and taking corrective actions to rectify them.
• Inspecting production equipment and processes to make sure they are safe.
• Investigating causes of accidents and other unsafe conditions on the job site, taking corrective action. Finding the best way to prevent future accidents.
• Providing training to new employees (Induction training) and visitors on safety to be followed inside the factory.
• Arranging PPEs and making sure all employee using the required PPEs.
• Providing safety-trainings to employees as per training calendar prepared at start of each quarter.
• Conducting safety committee meeting and preparing the MOM.
• Ensuring fire-protection equipment are in order, routine check-up for their efficacy. Liaise with fire-fighting contractor to make sure routine inspection is done on time and any observation is corrected timely.
• Conducting Evacuation mock drill on emergency preparedness. Fire Emergency & Medical Emergency etc.
• Preparing & maintaining the documentation related to HSE such as corrective and preventive action of internal/external audit, training records, Evacuation mock drill records, risk assessment, incident reporting & corrective action, etc.
• Summarizing daily HSE observation and sharing it with all concerned for corrective action.
• Overseeing the pest control management program implemented at site.
• Ensuring Safety & environmental compliance of the various regulatory bodies (Port Authority, RC-EPCD, NCEC)
• Preparing SMR for submission to RC-EPCD
• Arranging annual environmental analysis as per EPO conditions and requirements of RCER-2015.
• Preparing and maintaining all documentations of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 certification audit.
• Preparing and updating HSE statistics on a monthly basis and sharing it with all concerned.
• Requesting materials/services in SAP and preparing service entry sheets.

Qualification

BSC. in Engineering.

OSHA/NEBOSH Certified is a plus
