POSITION SUMMARY

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department to ensure that guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and other assigned areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and guest comfort.

The position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and effective communication with Housekeeping colleagues and other hotel departments to ensure a seamless guest experience in accordance with the standards of Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara and Minor Hotels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Housekeeping Attendants and assigned colleagues.
• Allocate daily work assignments and ensure adequate staffing coverage according to occupancy and operational requirements.
• Inspect guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and other assigned areas to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance standards are consistently achieved.
• Ensure guest rooms are cleaned, serviced, and released according to hotel standards and procedures.
• Follow up on room status and coordinate closely with Front Office regarding room readiness, priorities, discrepancies, and special requests.
• Monitor and follow up on guest requests, complaints, and special arrangements, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution.
• Ensure that all Housekeeping colleagues follow established SOPs, hygiene standards, safety procedures, and hotel policies.
• Conduct regular inspections and provide constructive feedback and coaching to colleagues.
• Report maintenance defects and engineering issues promptly and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
• Monitor the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals, equipment, linen, amenities, and other housekeeping supplies.
• Ensure appropriate handling and control of housekeeping equipment, linen, uniforms, guest supplies, and other departmental assets.
• Maintain accurate records, checklists, room status reports, and other departmental documentation as required.
• Assist with inventory control and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the relevant supervisor or management.
• Coordinate with Laundry, Engineering, Front Office, Security, and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Ensure that lost and found items are handled, recorded, and stored in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Assist with training, induction, coaching, and performance monitoring of new and existing colleagues.
• Support the Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Executive Housekeeper with departmental projects, inspections, and operational requirements.
• Ensure that all VIP rooms, special occasion rooms, and other priority rooms receive appropriate attention.
• Maintain awareness of guest preferences and special requests and ensure these are communicated to the relevant team members.
• Take appropriate action in emergency situations and ensure compliance with hotel health and safety procedures.
• Promote teamwork, professional conduct, and a positive working environment within the Housekeeping Department.
• Perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

GUEST SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain a high level of guest service at all times.
• Respond to guest requests promptly, professionally, and courteously.
• Handle guest concerns with empathy and escalate matters when required.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding guest information and hotel operations.
• Ensure that all guest rooms and public areas reflect the luxury standards expected at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

• Supervise and guide Housekeeping Attendants and other assigned colleagues.
• Conduct daily briefings and communicate operational priorities clearly.
• Monitor colleague attendance, grooming, punctuality, and adherence to hotel standards.
• Provide on-the-job coaching and identify training needs.
• Support performance management and provide feedback to colleagues in coordination with Housekeeping management.
• Encourage teamwork, communication, and a service-oriented culture.
