Role
The HSE Officer ensures that health, safety, and environmental standards are implemented and maintained across site operations. The role drives a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with legal and client requirements while minimising risks to people, assets, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and control hazards.
Implement and monitor HSE plans, procedures, and permit-to-work systems on site.
Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and follow up on corrective actions.
Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training for staff and subcontractors.
Prepare HSE reports and statistics, and maintain accurate safety records.
Coordinate emergency preparedness, including drills and response plans.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of HSE experience, preferably in facilities management, construction, or large-scale operations.
A recognised HSE certification is required: NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA.
Sound knowledge of local HSE regulations and international standards such as ISO 45001.
Strong communication, reporting, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence safe behaviour on site.
