Job Purpose

Establish the frameworks, methodologies, and intelligence processes needed to understand market dynamics, identify opportunities and risks, assess external factors, and translate market intelligence into actionable strategic insights that support decision-making and long-term growth.

Key Accountability Areas

Market & Industry Intelligence

• Develop and maintain market intelligence frameworks, classifications, product classifications, and knowledge repositories.
• Assess market size, growth, attractiveness, customer segments, and emerging opportunities.
• Establish reliable intelligence sources and methods for validating and triangulating market information.
• Translate market developments into strategic implications and recommendations.

Competitive & Benchmarking Intelligence

• Define competitor and benchmarking frameworks and maintain competitor intelligence.
• Build and maintain competitor positioning, industry value chains, and ecosystem dynamics.
• Identify competitive advantages, risks, and opportunities.
• Identify changes in industry structure or value chains that may affect future competitiveness.

Strategic Foresight & External Trends

• Monitor economic, regulatory, technological, geopolitical, and industry developments.
• Build and maintain a technology and market trends radar, particularly for developments affecting electricity, energy, electrical products, infrastructure, and related industries.
• Assess emerging technologies, trends, and disruption risks.
• Develop forward-looking scenarios to support strategic planning.

Strategic Studies & Opportunity Assessment

• Lead market-entry, growth, diversification, partnership, and investment assessments.
• Evaluate opportunities based on market attractiveness, strategic fit, commercial potential, and risk.
• Apply sufficient understanding of P&L, profitability, cost drivers, and investment economics to connect market conclusions with business implications, without positioning the role as a financial-analysis function.
• Provide actionable recommendations and decision support.

Strategic Insights & Decision Support

• Convert market, competitor, and external intelligence into strategic insights.
• Identify key opportunities, threats, and strategic implications.
• Support executive decision-making through concise recommendations.

Capability Development & Governance

• Define and own the Market Intelligence and Strategic Insights roadmap, priorities, methodologies, and research agenda.
• Establish and continuously improve frameworks, tools, data sources, and monitoring mechanisms.
• Build and mature the Market Intelligence capability, research approach, data sources, tools, and knowledge base.
• Establish mechanisms and appropriate cadences for continuous market, competitor, technology, and external-environment monitoring.
• Leverage research platforms, data analytics, digital tools, and AI to enhance intelligence gathering, analysis, synthesis, and monitoring.

HR Proficiency:

• Ability to recruit, recognize and cultivate high performers and expose them in order to create a robust second line of management.
• Ability to recognize low performers and guide them to improve or release them.
• Ability to treat subordinates equally without any discrimination.
• Assessment criteria of subordinates is performance that leads to planned results.
• Ensure availability of delegation of authority matrix to have sufficient delegations as per company policy.

• Provide periodic work progress reports.
• Responsible for monitoring and controlling budgets and expenses to achieve the optimum cost efficiency.

Organizational Development:

• Develop the organizational structure according to the current requirements taking into consideration future and development plans.
• Ensure availability of job descriptions for all job roles and deployment.

Business Process Improvements:

• Develop, coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.
• Should be conversant and able to navigate through IT solutions especially those relevant to his job and business.
• Promote the automated systems and using them fully, to spread its culture.

Academic Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Any relevant field
