About the company

Utopia is an ultra-luxury hospitality and lifestyle brand creating a global ecosystem of properties and experiences.

We develop private villa retreats in beautiful locations around the world, each with high-end service. Utopia also offers a wider ecosystem of leisure experiences and services available both to those staying on property and to external visitors.

Utopia designs and builds its properties in-house. Our projects span the full journey: from concept and architecture to construction, interiors, landscape, guest experience, and long-term operation. For architects and designers, this means contributing on properties from the ground up, with the ability to influence how each place is planned, built, and experienced. For hospitality professionals, it means collaborating with a brand where service is personal, attentive, and built around each guest’s stay.

We’re a young, ambitious team with high standards and a hands-on approach. We value strong ideas, practical thinking, attention to detail, and people who are ready to take ownership of their part of each project. If you’re interested in architecture, design, hospitality, or guest experience, we invite you to explore opportunities with Utopia.

About the role

You'll take on-site ownership of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) engineering coordination for one of Utopia's active luxury construction projects — private homes and villas, hotels and resorts. You'll be based on-site at the assigned project location in Dubai, bridging complex HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems with the uncompromising aesthetic standards of world-class architecture, working closely with architects, interior designers, structural engineers, procurement teams, and client representatives.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and guidance to in-house design & QS teams, third-party designers, consultants and contractors throughout the design and construction process
• Review and evaluate Electrical/HVAC/Plumbing design to ensure compliance with project requirements
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and managers to optimise Electrical/HVAC/Plumbing systems integration
• Timely resolve technical issues and challenges during the design and construction phases
• Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations related to Electrical/HVAC/Plumbing systems, including local construction regulations for the project's location
• Manage, control and track changes and variations in accordance with the corporate routine

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Building Engineering with a concentration in HVAC and mechanical systems
• 5 to 10 years of experience in design consultancy or with a general contractor
• Experience working on low-rise residential and hospitality projects — private homes and villas, hotels and resorts
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• Professional level of English, written and verbal
• Willingness to relocate on-site to the assigned project location for the duration of the assignment

Nice to Have

• Fluency in a regional language relevant to the project's location
• Experience in tropical, coastal, or other climate-demanding regions
• Experience working with luxury hotel chains and their corporate design guidelines

Benefits

• On-site impact. You'll be based at one of our active project sites, working where the building actually happens.
• USD payment. Full-time, on-site compensation paid in USD.
• Properties across multiple countries. You'll work on luxury villas, homes, hotels, and resorts spanning different regions — not one market or one architectural style.
• A team that spans 30+ countries. Architects, engineers, and designers from every corner of the world, working to the same standards, the same bar for quality.
