OTR (Off the road) Tire Technician

Job Overview

Responsible for tire maintenance and repairs to all vehicles/equipment on site

Responsibilities and Duties

• Check pressures and inflating tires as and when required/daily maintenance of tires
• Removing and installing wheels/rims from equipment as per safe working procedures
• Removing and installing tyres from rims as per safe working procedures
• Repairing tires with use of gators/patches/vulcanising where needed
• Complying with all safe work procedures and risk assessments at all times
• Assist with wheel alignments when required

Qualification

Education Level: Technical training/high school

Years of Experience: 5 Plus

Specific Skills / Competencies

• English language proficiency
• Tyre fitting experience and qualifications
• Physically fit and strong
• Reading and writing skills
• Required Licenses and Certifications (Optional/If position required):
• NCC, O-Level, Tyre Maintenance Training.
• A Valid vehicle drivers license
• Senior Certificate, equivalent to Grade 12 (SA)
• 2 Years experience as tyre fitter or
• 1 Year of Supervisory experience
• Minimum of 2 years Off The Road earthmoving tyre experience.
