Role Summary:

The Accountant, Cost Accounting is responsible for supporting product costing, manufacturing cost analysis, SAP costing activities, inventory valuation, and month-end closing processes.

The role supports the Lead, Cost Accounting in ensuring accurate standard and actual costing, proper cost allocation, reliable variance analysis, and timely preparation of costing reports and reconciliations. The position plays a key role in maintaining costing accuracy, supporting SAP costing processes, and providing operational cost visibility across products, production lines, and manufacturing activities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Standard Costing & Costing Support

1. Support preparation, maintenance, and periodic update of standard costing for products for AMTPJ.

2. Assist in validating costing assumptions related to Raw materials, Utilities, Labor, Activities prices, Overheads, Conversion costs.

3. Support costing simulations and cost structure analysis for AMTPJ.

2. Manufacturing Cost Analysis

1. Prepare manufacturing cost analysis reports by production line and product for AMTPJ.

2. Analyse actual vs standard cost variances and support root-cause investigations.

3. Support analysis of Material consumption, Yield losses, Labor variances, Utility costs, Overhead absorption.

4. Coordinate with Production and Operations teams to validate cost drivers.

5. Highlight abnormal cost behaviour and operational inconsistencies impacting AMTPJ profitability.

3. Cost Centre & Cost Element review and analysis

1. Review primary and secondary cost postings across departments and production lines.

2. Analyse cost centre expenses and ensure proper cost allocation and classification.

3. Analyse Activity prices, Statistical key figures, Allocation cycles

4. Analyse Overhead absorption

5. Ensure fairness and consistency in cost allocation methodologies.

4. SAP Costing & Closing Support

1. Support SAP costing activities within AMTPJ FI/CO, MM, PP, and Material Ledger modules.

2. Assist in monthly closing activities including:

• Maintain and validate Statistical Key Figures (SKF) used in allocation and assessment cycles

• WIP calculations, Production order analysis, Variance analysis, Settlement review, Cost reconciliations

3. Support investigation and resolution of costing discrepancies.

5. Inventory Costing & Valuation Support

1. Support review and reconciliation of Inventory valuation, WIP balances, Production order costs, Finished goods valuation

2. Support intercompany inventory costing reconciliation between AMTPJ and subsidiaries.

3. Prepare supporting schedules and costing reconciliations.

4. Assist in monitoring transfer pricing and intercompany cost allocation consistency.

6. Costing Master Data Support

1. Support review and validation of AMTPJ costing master data including BOMs, Routings, Activity prices, Statistical key figures, Overhead rates

2. Coordinate with relevant departments to maintain costing master data accuracy.

7. Reporting & Cost Analytics

1. Generate and analyse SAP costing reports for AMTPJ including CK11N, CK40N, KSB1, KOB1, MB5B, KSBT, S_ALR reports and other reports

2. Prepare dashboards and analytical reports for management reporting.

3. Support reporting automation and data accuracy initiatives.

4. Support reporting standardization between AMTPJ and subsidiaries.

8. Budgeting & Business Support

1. Support Budget / FP&A team by preparing AMTPJ costing assumptions and cost breakdowns for budgeting and forecasting exercises.

2. Assist in RFQ costing analysis and profitability simulations.

3. Support operational cost analysis and management reporting activities.

4. Coordinate with AMTPJ Finance teams to validate costing assumptions and financial impacts.

9. Audit & Compliance Support

1. Support Internal and External Audit activities related to AMTPJ by preparing required costing reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

2. Extract and validate SAP costing data requested during audits.

3. Maintain proper documentation for costing calculations, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.

4. Assist in resolving audit queries related to AMTPJ costing and inventory valuation.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Cost Management (CMA preferred).


• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing.
