The Abu Dhabi Quality & Conformity Council seeks a Laboratory Technician to join the Organic Chemistry Laboratory team. The role involves receiving, registering, preparing, storing, and disposing of samples according to ISO 17025 standards, calibrating equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receive and electronically register samples within the defined time frame, ensuring data accuracy.
• Prepare samples according to approved laboratory procedures and quality standards.
• Store samples in designated areas following technical requirements and monitor for degradation.
• Dispose of damaged or unnecessary samples in accordance with laboratory regulations.
• Calibrate glassware, refrigerators, and other equipment annually per ISO 17025 guidelines.
• Perform routine cleaning and contamination checks on laboratory instruments.
• Monitor instrument readings during sample preparation and correct deviations as needed.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of chemicals, reagents, and consumables, identifying expired items.
• Prepare and submit analytical reports on time with results that meet reference standards.
• Adhere to occupational health, safety, and environmental protocols, reporting any incidents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of handling radioactive and chemical materials.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Understanding of risk management and safety standards in a laboratory setting.
• Familiarity with ISO 17025 quality requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Good organizational skills for inventory and waste management.
• Ability to work effectively with internal teams (Quality, Sample Management, Safety).
• Commitment to ethical conduct and institutional standards.
