The jobs in this level are responsible for providing more complex purchasing activities, to ensure that the vendors meet the performance criteria and providing the required goods and products in a timely manner with the quality expected by placing the purchase orders.

Responsibilities

• Follows all relevant Procurement instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

• Follows the day-to-day operations related to own jobs in the Procurement to ensure continuity of work.

• Provides departments with buying services to meet the departments ‘requirements.

• Identifies vendors for assigned commodities to ensure that the required materials are purchased within the budget and timeframe.

• Issues requests for quotation to initiative vendor relationships.

• Issues purchase orders after receiving three quotations from different vendors to ensure that the vendor is selected based on best price, quality and delivery in the required timeframe.

• Monitors vendor’s conformance with contracts to develop the capability of vendors and ensure that the quality is maintained.

• Studies market trends and provides relevant information to ensure that the required materials with the needed quality is being purchased.

• Participates in proposals and process requests by sending Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to vendors.
