Purpose and Scope of Position

(Job Summary)

Purpose

The Seasonal Server is responsible for delivering warm, attentive, and professional food & beverage service to all guests while supporting high-volume operations across Dubai Golf outlets and events. The role requires experienced hospitality professionals who can quickly adapt to operations, uphold Dubai Golf service standards, and contribute to elevating the overall guest experience during the seasonal period.

Scope of Position

Guest Service – Provide warm, professional, and efficient service to all guests, ensuring high guest satisfaction and a memorable dining experience.

Operations – Support daily outlet operations including order taking, serving, billing, clearance, setup, and breakdown while maintaining smooth service flow during busy operational periods.
Product Knowledge – Maintain strong knowledge of menus, beverages, promotions, and outlet operations to confidently guide and assist guests.
Hygiene & Safety – Maintain cleanliness and follow all Dubai Golf hygiene, health, and safety procedures at all times.
Team Support – Work collaboratively with Supervisors, Captains, kitchen, bar, and operational teams to support seamless service execution across outlets and events.
Upselling & Revenue – Apply confident upselling and suggestive selling techniques to enhance guest experience and support outlet revenue.
Communication – Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues to ensure service efficiency and operational flow.

Brand Standards – Represent Dubai Golf professionally by maintaining high grooming, presentation, and service excellence standards.

Main Duties:

(Job Related Duties)

1. Guest Service

• Greet and acknowledge all guests warmly while maintaining a friendly and approachable attitude throughout service.
• Ensure guests are supported promptly with menus, beverages, recommendations, and attentive service.
• Present menus confidently and provide clear explanations of dishes, promotions, specials, and beverages.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately while ensuring dietary requirements and special requests are communicated clearly.
• Deliver food and beverages efficiently, ensuring presentation and order accuracy before serving.
• Conduct courtesy checks and monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to the Captain or Supervisor when required.
• Apply Dubai Golf’s service standards and 4 Service Steps consistently throughout the guest journey.

2. Operations

• Attend daily briefings and remain aware of reservations, VIPs, promotions, events, and operational updates.
• Prepare mise-en-place before service including station setup, glassware, cutlery, condiments, and side stations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all service areas throughout the shift.
• Operate the POS system correctly, including order entry, modifications, billing, and payment processing.
• Follow correct billing procedures to ensure accuracy and prevent revenue loss.
• Carry out table setup, food and beverage service, clearance, resetting, and side duties according to outlet standards.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth timing and efficient service flow.
• Support opening and closing duties including polishing, stocking, cleaning, and checklist completion.
• Assist with functions, banquets, activations, and special events as required.
• Adapt quickly across different outlets and operational environments when required.

3. Product Knowledge

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menus, ingredients, cooking methods, allergens, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
• Develop confident knowledge of beverages including soft drinks, juices, teas/coffees, mocktails, cocktails, spirits, wines, and beer where applicable.
• Be able to recommend items based on guest preferences and confidently provide alternatives for dietary requirements (allergens, vegetarian, etc.).
• Attend tastings, briefings, and training sessions to continuously strengthen product knowledge and service confidence.
• Understand outlet-specific offers, promotions, and seasonal menus to communicate accurately to guests.
• Demonstrate knowledge of club facilities and services (where relevant) to guide members and guests and improve overall experience.

4. Hygiene & Safety

• Follow Dubai Golf hygiene and food safety standards at all times, including correct handwashing and safe handling procedures.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards across workstations, service equipment, stations, and public areas during service.
• Handle glassware, crockery, cutlery, and trays correctly to prevent accidents, breakages, or damage.
• Ensure any spillages are cleaned immediately and hazards are reported to the Supervisor/Captain to prevent guest or colleague injury.
• Follow correct waste disposal procedures and assist with maintaining hygiene in back-of-house areas when required.
• Always comply with health & safety guidelines, reporting incidents, injuries, or near misses according to procedure.
• Maintain awareness of cost control by minimising wastage, reporting breakages, and handling stock items responsibly.

5. Upselling & Revenue

• Apply consistent upselling techniques in a natural and guest-friendly manner to maximise revenue and improve guest experience.
• Promote desserts, coffee, premium beverages, upgrades, add-ons, and specials at the correct points of service.
• Recommend second rounds, refills, and meal enhancements when appropriate, ensuring guest satisfaction remains the priority.
• Ensure all items are recorded correctly on the POS and no items are missed or unposted.

6. Teamwork & Communication

• Maintain clear and professional communication with colleagues, Supervisors, Captains, kitchen, bar, and stewarding teams.
• Support colleagues during busy periods, assist with running food/drinks, clearing tables, and helping across sections when required.
• Share guest feedback, operational concerns, and improvement suggestions with the Captain/Supervisor to support service excellence.
• Contribute to a positive working environment by being respectful, cooperative, and reliable during shifts.
• Support new joiners or trainees by guiding them on basic service tasks and Dubai Golf standards where required.

7. Learning & Development

• Attend all mandatory training including food safety, hygiene, fire safety, service standards, and operational procedures.
• Actively seek coaching and feedback from Supervisors and Captains, applying feedback consistently to improve performance.
• Participate in product knowledge sessions and training to support confidence in upselling and guest recommendations.

8. Brand Standards

• Maintain correct uniform, grooming, and professional appearance in line with Dubai Golf grooming standards at all times.
• Demonstrate a polite, friendly, and respectful attitude when interacting with guests, colleagues, and management.
• Maintain a calm and professional approach under pressure, especially during peak service times.
• Uphold Dubai Golf’s Mission, Vision, and Values through daily behaviour, service delivery, and guest interactions.
• Represent Dubai Golf positively by showing pride in the brand and consistently delivering service excellence.

2. Ancillary Duties:

In line with the Club’s strive for continuous improvement, you may be requested to participate in various extra activities contributing towards individuals and organizational growth.

Represent the department or a group in various committees, such as the Staff Committee, Green Theme (environmental), Food Committee, Sport Committee or projects. Be trained as a Fire Marshall or First Aider.

3. Quality Responsibilities:

Aware of Dubai Golf Mission, Vision and Values. Will be responsible to apply the 4 Service Steps throughout serving internal and external customers.

4. IT Security Awareness:

1. Read, Understand and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl DG.
2. Co-operate, co-ordinate and share information with Internal/External Audit teams as appropriate and applicable.
3. Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the wasl IT Department.
4. All Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, incidents (actual or suspected breaches) shall be immediately reported to the IT Service Desk.

SUPPORTIVE SKILLS

High school education or equivalent.

Professional appearance and high standards of hygiene.

Previous experience in a reputable hotel/restaurant environment (required).

Guest-focused, approachable, and positive attitude.

Fluency in English, both verbal and written.

Team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Basic knowledge of food & beverage service standards.

Quick learner, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.

Ability to work across high-volume operations and different outlet concepts

Strong communication and attention to detail.
