Position Summary:
MGIS is an International School, with IB certification, where English is the language of instruction. The Art Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging art lessons that foster creativity, critical thinking, and artistic skills in students, in accordance with the IB philosophy. This role involves developing a comprehensive art curriculum, guiding students in exploring various artistic techniques and mediums, and promoting an appreciation for art history and culture. The Art Teacher collaborates with school staff to enhance the overall educational experience through the integration of visual arts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development and Lesson Planning
- Develop and implement an age-appropriate art curriculum aligned with school standards and educational goals.
- Create lesson plans that introduce students to various art techniques, materials, and styles.
- Integrate art history and cultural studies into lessons to enrich students’ understanding of artistic expression.
2. Instruction and Classroom Management
- Teach students foundational and advanced art skills, such as drawing, painting, sculpting, and digital design.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages self-expression and creativity.
- Maintain order and discipline in the classroom to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
3. Encouraging Creativity and Expression
- Encourage students to develop their unique artistic style and voice.

5. Classroom and Material Management
