ABOUT THE ROLE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in managing and maintaining the hotel’s engineering systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and energy systems.
Ensure smooth operation of building and guest-facing systems such as chillers, boilers, generators, elevators, and fire and life safety systems.
Lead daily maintenance activities and ensure timely resolution of guest and departmental work orders.
Monitor and maintain preventive maintenance programmes, energy consumption, and water management to maximise equipment lifespan and efficiency.
Plan and implement repairs, technical upgrades, renovation projects, and infrastructure improvements in coordination with the Engineering Manager.
Manage contractors, service providers, and maintenance-related contracts.
Maintain engineering asset inventory, spare parts stock, and oversee procurement of materials and equipment.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, civil defense, and environmental regulations and company standards.
Train and supervise the engineering team on technical procedures, safety practices, and best practices, and deputise for the Engineering Manager when required.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
Minimum 3–5 years of engineering or maintenance experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, building management systems, and preventive maintenance programmes.
Experience with hotel engineering operations and computerised maintenance management systems is preferred.
Ability to manage engineering projects, contractors, and budgets.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Leadership skills with the ability to manage and support a team.
Fluent in English and Arabic.
