Department Definition
The Science department aims to teach Biology to students who need a solid foundation to develop their skills. The incumbent is responsible to assess students’ performance with the aim of helping students develop the linguistic ability to function effectively in an internationalenvironment.
Main Job Duties & Responsibilities
Model and support a learner-centered, hands-on classroom environment that promotes learner engagement and participation.
Ensure that students reach the expected age-related outcomes for Biology.
Gain an understanding of working with Arab youth who will study Biology in English.
Create a positive, active, language-rich learning environment.
Support the learning process by identifying needs and guiding students to achieve their learning objectives.
Ensure assessments are delivered according to the assessment strategy and guidelines, in a valid and rigorous manner.
Maintain an accurate record of student achievement and performance.
Create positive and effective relationships with colleagues.
Skills Description
Requirements for Expatriates:
3+ years of full-time teaching experience in schools for expats (after graduation)
2+ years full- time teaching experience in schools if the candidate possesses one of the following that is regarded as a teaching qualification
Relevant bachelor's degree (Bachelor's degree in Biology; Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology; Bachelor's degree in Microbiology; Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science; Bachelor's degree in Genetics; Bachelor of Education in Biology (3-year degree)
Minimum GPA of 2.5
English Level
Excellent level of English proficiency (TOEFL iBT Language proficiency test required or an equivalent to it), which candidates should provide within six months of joining the MOE. (TOEFL score of 79-93 required)

No previous teaching experience required.
