About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Cash Sales & Deposit Monitoring Officer to monitor branch cash collections and ensure timely and accurate deposits into company bank accounts.
The role will be responsible for reconciling cash sales against bank deposits, identifying discrepancies and unusual patterns, and following up on exceptions until resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily cash sales across branches and reconcile them against bank deposits.
- Identify delayed, missing, partial, or unmatched deposits and investigate exceptions.
- Monitor compliance with the approved cash deposit policy and timelines.
- Review unusual cash collection and deposit patterns by branch, date, or amount.
- Identify recurring discrepancies and high-risk branches based on deposit behavior.
- Verify supporting documents for cash deposits and investigate material differences.
- Maintain accurate documentation and evidence for identified exceptions.
- Escalate significant or unexplained cash discrepancies to the Head of GRC.
- Follow up on corrective actions until issues are fully resolved.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Internal Audit, or a related field.
- Previous experience in cash monitoring, reconciliation, internal control, audit, or a similar role.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify irregularities.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Strong follow-up, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience in a multi-branch retail environment is an advantage.
