Job Purpose
Lead the company’s Health & Beauty business by setting category strategy, driving sales and profitability, and delivering a strong customer experience across relevant channels. The Director, Health & Beauty oversees category performance, product assortment, supplier relationships, merchandising, and team development while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Category Strategy & Growth: Define and lead the overall Health & Beauty category strategy, growth plans, and market positioning in alignment with company objectives and customer needs.
Financial Performance: Own category financial performance, including revenue, gross margin, and profitability targets.
Assortment & Portfolio Management: Lead assortment planning and product portfolio optimization to ensure the right product mix, pricing structure, and lifecycle management.
Pricing & Promotions: Develop and oversee pricing and promotional strategies to strengthen competitiveness, protect margins, and drive sales growth.
Supplier & Brand Management: Lead supplier and brand relationships, negotiate commercial terms, improve cost efficiency, and support product availability.
Demand & Inventory Planning: Oversee demand and inventory planning in collaboration with relevant teams to improve forecast accuracy, stock availability, and inventory turnover.
Market & Performance Analysis: Monitor category performance, market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and improve business results.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, E-commerce, Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial Excellence, and Operations to align category priorities, campaigns, product launches, and execution plans.
Commercial Excellence: Ensure effective execution of pricing, promotions, product availability, and category standards across relevant sales channels.
Business Growth & Innovation: Drive growth opportunities through new product launches, private-label development, and expansion into relevant Health & Beauty segments.
Regulatory & Product Compliance: Promote awareness of applicable regulatory and product compliance requirements across relevant Health & Beauty products.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead and develop the category team through coaching, performance management, capability building, and succession planning, while supporting Saudization objectives.
Business Performance Reviews: Establish regular category performance reviews to monitor results, align priorities, and drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, Pharmacy, Healthcare, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
Significant experience in category management, merchandising, retail, consumer goods, or a related commercial function, including experience in health and beauty.
Experience leading teams and managing category strategy, sales, profitability, and commercial plans.
Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations, brand partnerships, assortment planning, and promotional strategy.
Knowledge of health and beauty products, market trends, retail operations, and applicable product quality and regulatory requirements.
Experience using sales, margin, inventory, and customer data to evaluate performance and guide business decisions.
