You will lead the proactive management of non-performing and classified assets, contribute to early-stage risk identification, and drive mitigation strategies that enhance returns, reduce portfolio volatility, optimize regulatory capital, and improve overall balance sheet efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio & Risk Management

  • Provide guidance on credit grading, provisioning, and portfolio management actions.

Capital & Balance Sheet Optimization

  • Maximize recoveries while improving capital efficiency and overall returns.
  • Support optimization of Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), liquidity, and Return on Tangible Equity (RoTE).
  • Assess strategic options for stressed assets, balancing accounting outcomes against economic value.
  • Contribute to reducing concentration risk and releasing regulatory capital to support business growth.

Strategic Portfolio Insights

  • Deliver portfolio analytics and forward-looking credit migration assessments.
  • Enhance portfolio transparency through meaningful reporting on risk, cost, recovery, and mitigation outcomes.
  • Support the development of data-driven approaches to credit risk management and portfolio optimization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve portfolio composition and strengthen origination discipline.

Governance & Control

  • Ensure compliance with the Bank's Problem Accounts Management Standards and relevant governance frameworks.
  • Maintain strong oversight of operational, conduct, regulatory, and reputational risks.
  • Escalate significant issues and material impairments to senior management and governance committees as required.
  • Support audit, compliance, and regulatory reviews while ensuring timely resolution of findings.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong partnerships across Coverage, Credit Risk, SAR, Finance, Legal, CFCC, Global Credit Markets, and Financial Markets teams.
  • Represent the Bank in discussions with external stakeholders including investors, advisers, legal counsel, regulators, restructuring specialists, and distressed asset funds.
  • Influence strategic decision-making through clear communication of portfolio risks and opportunities.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Significant experience in credit risk, restructuring, stressed assets or portfolio management.
  • Strong financial analysis, credit assessment and financial statement analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of distressed debt, recoveries, capital management and RWA optimisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
  • Commercial mindset with sound credit judgement.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
