Job Summary
The Finance & Accounting Specialist at ThurayaBiz plays a key role in supporting the organization’s financial and accounting operations. Reporting to the Finance Manager/Finance Lead, this position involves maintaining financial records, supporting accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, assisting with reconciliations, and ensuring financial transactions are accurate and properly documented.
Key Responsibilities and Roles:
1) Accounting Operations:
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and accounting records.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Prepare invoices, payment requests, receipts, and supporting financial documents.
- Assist with payroll-related financial processes and employee expense claims.
2) Financial Reconciliation & Reporting
- Perform regular bank, supplier, customer, and account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing monthly and periodic financial reports.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Monitor outstanding receivables, payables, and financial commitments.
3) Budget & Financial Support
- Support budget preparation, monitoring, and expense tracking.
- Assist in analyzing financial data and identifying variances.
- Support management with financial information and reports.
- Monitor expenses against approved budgets and requirements.
4) Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly supported.
- Support compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain organized financial files and documentation.
- Assist with audit requirements and provide supporting records when required.
5) Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and financial controls.
- Stay updated with accounting standards, financial systems, and relevant regulations.
- Support the implementation and improvement of finance systems and workflows.
- Participate in training and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Relevant professional certifications such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent are an advantage.
- 2–4 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related roles.
- Experience with accounting software and financial systems is preferred.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
