  • Coordinate legal activities across multiple jurisdictions while ensuring compliance with local laws and Group governance requirements.
  • Partner with Group Jahez and external legal counsel on regional legal matters, strategic initiatives, and expansion projects.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and other corporate transactions as required.
  • Lead the end-to-end legal workstream for entry into new markets, from legal feasibility and market-entry structuring through entity incorporation, licensing, regulatory approvals, operational readiness, contract localisation and ongoing legal compliance.
  • Lead or support investments, venture-building initiatives, startup and portfolio-company arrangements, convertible instruments, shareholders’ agreements, joint ventures, funding rounds, exits and post-investment governance matters

  • Develop and manage the Legal Department’s annual budget, external legal spend, panel of law firms and advisers, and legal technology requirements, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and appropriate oversight of external counsel performance.

Decision-Making Authority

  • Act as the final internal legal reviewer within the company’s delegated authority framework and determine whether material legal risks require escalation to the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, or Jahez Group.
  • Approve legal positions, contractual deviations, settlement recommendations, external counsel appointments, and legal risk-mitigation measures within the applicable delegation of authority and approved budget.
  • Require additional legal protections, remedial action, or executive approval where a proposed transaction, product, practice, or market-entry initiative presents material legal, regulatory, financial, or reputational risk.
  • Maintain professional independence in the provision of legal advice and have direct access to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors on material legal and governance matters.
