JOB PURPOSE

• The Operations Engineer is the technical execution lead for all assigned projects within their product line portfolio.

inspection to final delivery, ensuring every vehicle is built, documented, and delivered in full conformance with applicable regulatory, client, and quality standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the full lifecycle of all assigned projects — approximately 15-20 active projects per engineer across all projects.

• Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules, coordinating with the production floor to align manufacturing milestones with client delivery commitments.

• Identify schedule risks and deviations early, implementing corrective actions and escalating to the Team Leader where required.

• Conduct regular project progress reviews with internal production and procurement teams to ensure continuity and on-time delivery.

• Coordinate project handover activities, including client acceptance inspections, delivery documentation, and post-delivery follow-up.

• Ensure all vehicles under assigned projects are built in full compliance with the client specification.

• Review and approve technical documentation, build specifications, and engineering drawings prior to production commencement.

• Conduct or coordinate in-process and final quality inspections, recording all findings against the project quality plan.

• Raise, manage, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for any identified deviations, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective action are completed within defined timelines.

• Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors responsible for components and services

within assigned projects.

•Monitorsupplierdeliveryperformanceandqualityagainstpurchaseordersandproject specifications.

• Coordinate third-party inspections, certifications, and factory acceptance tests required for all projects.

• Escalate supplier performance issues to the Team Leader and Procurement, maintaining a formal record of actions taken.

• Maintain complete, accurate project records for every assigned project including build documentation, inspection records, client correspondence, and compliance certificates.

• Provide regular project status updates to the Senior Coordinator for inclusion in weekly management reports.

• Prepare and submit incident reports, corrective action records, and technical deviation requests as required.

• Support the Coordinators in preparing client-facing status updates, project progress reports, and delivery documentation.

• Provide production progress report to Sales.

• Request for production plan from production to streamline all processes and set deadlines.

• Collaborate closely with the KOM/Project Initiation Specialist at the start of each new project to ensure scope, timeline, and stakeholder requirements are fully captured.

• Coordinate with the Senior Coordinator on scheduling conflicts, documentation priorities, and resource constraints across the shared project portfolio.

• Participate in the monthly team sync, providing accurate project status updates and flagging any unresolved blockers.

• Support the Team Leader in preparing project data for management review presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in operations, project engineering, or manufacturing environments.

• Experience in vehicle manufacturing, fire-fighting equipment, or specialist vehicle sectors is preferred.

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS 9100 quality standards.

• Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and PMIS documentation systems.

• Experience in supplier management and third-party inspections.

KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES

• Strong technical knowledge in vehicle engineering and manufacturing processes.

• Excellent project management and scheduling abilities.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.

• Effective communication with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.

• Attention to detail in documentation and quality compliance.

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/project management systems.

JOB CHALLENGES

• Managing 15-20 active projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and delivery standards.

• Resolving technical and supplier issues within tight project timelines.

• Maintaining full documentation accuracy across a large and dynamic project portfolio.

• Coordinating across multiple internal departments to keep projects on schedule.
