About us

Worley is a global company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia. We partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value across the life of their assets. We specialize in consulting, engineering, procurement and construction across the project lifecycle, with services extending through to operations and decommissioning. Leveraging extensive experience and AI-enabled delivery, we support customers in navigating complexity as they meet today's needs and transition to more sustainable solutions.

The Role

As Project Procurement Manager at Worley, you will lead procurement delivery for major projects, ensuring specialized third-party services/subcontracts, materials, equipment, and services are secured safely, commercially, within budget, and to schedule. Working across project management, engineering, quality, inspection, logistics, and suppliers, you will provide specialist procurement leadership and support successful project outcomes.

  • Lead Supply chain activities from planning through award, ensuring third party services, materials, equipment, and services meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Develop and maintain the procurement plan, contracting strategy, bidder strategy, procurement schedule, package priorities, procedures, and Project Vendor List in line with project and client requirements.
  • Translate project management and engineering requirements into clear procurement, quality, inspection, documentation, and expediting priorities.
  • Coordinate and expedite Third party drawings, technical documentation, through desk expediting and recovery actions.
  • Monitor pre-award and post-award status, provide clear progress reporting, and escalate emerging issues with practical mitigation or recovery recommendations.
  • Prepare and oversee tender and bid documentation, vendor clarifications, evaluations, recommendations, and client approvals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement and contracting: Manage subcontracting and procurement packages from market enquiry through technical evaluation, commercial evaluation, negotiation, award, and post-award administration, including variations, claims, warranties, and close-out.
  • Expediting and strategic sourcing: Expedite specialised third-party services, and materials/equipment as may be required to support requirement.
  • Long-lead Item strategy: Experience securing manufacturing capacity and structuring phased commitments for major equipment, bulk materials and OEM packages as may be required.
  • Cost, schedule, and risk control: Integrate procurement milestones during FEED, covering supplier engineering, manufacture, inspection, logistics and required-on-site dates into the master schedule, ensuring supply chain risks are reflected in critical-path analysis and mitigation planning.
  • Supplier and stakeholder coordination: Work closely with suppliers, project management, engineering, quality, inspection, logistics, and client teams to resolve issues and maintain delivery commitments.
  • Documentation and reporting: Ensure procurement, shipping, certification, and supplier records are accurate and complete, and provide timely reporting on order status, material readiness, and delivery performance.
  • Governance and compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with delegated authorities, client procedures, contractual requirements, safety and quality standards, trade controls, anti-bribery obligations, and responsible sourcing principles.
  • Leadership and specialist guidance: Lead Procurement Specialist, assign and review work, provide technical guidance, and operate independently within broad project objectives.
  • Performance improvement: Monitor supplier performance, drive corrective actions, capture lessons learned, and contribute to the improvement of procurement systems, processes, and tools.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring the following qualifications, experience, and capabilities:

  • Experience: Approximately 20 years of supply chain and procurement experience, including at least five years as a Project Procurement Manager with a well-established EPC contractor in the Middle East.
  • Industry background: Proven delivery experience on large-scale oil and gas, industrial, chemical, conventional energy, or green-energy projects.
  • Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain or related discipline is preferred. MCIPS, CPSM or an equivalent professional qualification is desirable.
  • Procurement and commercial expertise: Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, bid evaluation, negotiation, contracting, claims, change management, supplier risk, logistics, compliance, and post-award administration for major EPC packages.
  • Leadership and autonomy: Demonstrated ability to lead Procurement Specialist, provide specialist guidance, manage competing priorities, and work independently within broad objectives.
  • Communication and influence: Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the credibility to advise and influence stakeholders on complex procurement and supplier-performance matters.
  • Regional and global sourcing: Sound knowledge of Middle East and international supplier markets, including Far East sourcing, customs, import requirements, and international logistics.
  • Systems and improvement: Advanced capability in ERP systems, procurement applications, and Microsoft Office, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and improve procurement processes and tools.
  • Delivery focus: Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, commercial judgement, resilience under pressure, and close attention to detail.
