About the Job:
We are looking for a Specialist QA Backend Engineer to join our team in Dubai, with strong expertise in API testing and automation.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain automated test scenarios for backend/API testing.
Develop API automation using Java and REST Assured and perform API testing using Postman.
Leverage AI-assisted tools for test case generation, automation, test data creation, defect analysis, and improving QA efficiency.
Participate in sprint planning and review requirements to ensure test coverage.
Create detailed and well-structured test plans and test cases.
Convert manual regression scenarios to automated test cases.
Validate API contracts, request/response payloads, authentication, authorization, and data integrity.
Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities during the SDLC.
Ensure automated tests are integrated and execute reliably in CI/CD environments.
Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, and non-functional testing, including API performance/load testing where required.
Work as a member of an Agile SCRUM team delivering high-quality software in two-week sprints.
Identify, troubleshoot, and document issues thoroughly during bug tracking.
Review requirements and technical specifications to identify quality risks and ensure adequate test coverage.
Ability to think outside-the-box for reproducing and re-creating complex issues.
Ability to work independently and define QA activities within an Agile team.
Document software issues and assist development teams with clear and detailed steps to reproduce defects.
Profile Requirements:
4+ years of solid experience in Software Testing/QA, with strong backend/API testing experience.
Strong proficiency in Java and experience with REST Assured for API automation testing.
Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing.
Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON/XML, authentication, and API testing concepts.
Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with performance/API load testing is a plus.
Knowledge of SQL/database validation, microservices, API security, or contract testing is a plus.
Familiarity with AI-assisted development and testing tools for test generation, automation, test data, and defect analysis.
Strong knowledge of Software QA methodologies, testing types, tools, and processes.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with project tracking tools.
Travel and Tourism experience is a plus.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
