About the Role
L&T Construction is seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager for a major RTA Roads and Infrastructure Project in Dubai, UAE. The candidate will lead all quality assurance and quality control activities, ensuring that works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable authority standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Project Quality Plan, inspection procedures, checklists, and quality-control systems.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, method statements, and RTA/UAE authority requirements.
- Manage QA/QC activities for roads, bridges, structures, utilities, drainage, earthworks, asphalt, concrete, and associated infrastructure works.
- Review method statements, Inspection and Test Plans, material submittals, shop drawings, and technical documents.
- Coordinate material inspections, site inspections, laboratory testing, and work approvals with consultants and project teams.
- Lead QA/QC engineers, inspectors, laboratory personnel, and subcontractor quality teams.
- Monitor subcontractor and supplier compliance with project quality requirements.
- Raise, track, and close Non-Conformance Reports, observations, and corrective or preventive actions.
- Conduct internal quality audits and support client, consultant, and authority audits.
- Analyse quality trends, identify recurring issues, and implement improvement measures.
- Maintain calibration records, material test certificates, inspection records, approvals, and quality documentation.
- Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports, performance indicators, and management updates.
- Coordinate the preparation of as-built records, testing dossiers, handover documents, and project close-out files.
- Promote a quality-focused culture and reduce rework, defects, and construction wastage.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 15–20 years of QA/QC experience in roads, highways, bridges, infrastructure, or major civil/EPC projects.
- Relevant UAE/GCC experience, preferably on RTA road or infrastructure projects in Dubai.
- Strong knowledge of roadworks, earthworks, asphalt, concrete, structural works, utilities, drainage, and material testing.
- Sound knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, project specifications, and inspection requirements.
- Experience in quality audits, NCR management, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and project handover.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Certification as an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent will be an advantage.
