Job Description
The Restaurant Hostess is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in creating a welcoming and professional dining experience. This role requires fluency in Arabic to assist and communicate effectively with Arabic-speaking guests, manage reservations, and coordinate smooth seating arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival.
- Manage the reservation system, including booking, confirming, and updating reservations.
- Organize seating arrangements to ensure smooth guest flow and service efficiency.
- Communicate wait times to guests and manage expectations during busy periods.
- Escort guests to tables and provide menus, including sharing information about specials and restaurant offerings.
- Handle guest inquiries and requests professionally, particularly for Arabic-speaking guests.
- Coordinate with the service team to ensure tables are prepared and ready for guests.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the host stand, lobby, and dining area.
- Support guest feedback collection and communicate issues to the Restaurant Manager.
- Uphold professional grooming and appearance in line with hotel standards.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support restaurant operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality training preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or upscale restaurant.
- Fluency in Arabic and English (speaking and writing); additional languages are a plus.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in busy periods.
- Familiarity with reservation systems is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods and walk guests to tables.
- Comfortable moving around the restaurant as required.
