SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
As a Senior Coating Advisor, you will be responsible to provide professional technical advice to our customers, by on-site support on paint application, inspections and reporting, and feedback product performance to local Technical Service Support to ensure that the coating specification is met, the job is completed according to the contract and the customer’s satisfaction and that information contained in the product’s Application guide is correct.
This position is based in Dammam and reports to the Technical Services and Support Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect coating activities for shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore structures, vessels, and marine tank linings, including surface preparation, environmental conditions, application, DFT- Dry film thickness, curing, and final coating quality.
- Give clear instructions to clients and relevant Jotun staff on paint applications by working on-site with relevant client representatives to ensure the coating specification is met and in accordance with customer expectations.
- Inspect specific projects assigned to you by your manager, work independently, following the Inspection test plans and working procedures to ensure that the product is applied in accordance with the specification.
- Prepare relevant inspection reports, test results by compiling data from inspections to document that the specification inspection criteria have been met including recommendations for corrective actions.
- Carry out paint inspections of specific assigned projects and products/services have been specified: Tanklinings (Epoxy), SeaLion series, Baltoflake, Chemflake, Inorganic Zinc Silicates, HPS) according to Jotun HSE Policies & Application Procedure.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree. Chemical, Mechanical, Chemistry, Corrosion Engineering is preferable.
- 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in performance coatings, shipbuilding, corrosion protection, and industrial coating applications.
- Professional certifications in protective coatings and corrosion control, such as AMPP/NACE Coating Inspector Program (CIP), FROSIO, or equivalent qualifications.
- Fluency in English – both verbally and written.
