Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Planning Engineer to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Site Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient execution of construction projects by developing, maintaining, and optimising project schedules.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using advanced planning software such as Primavera P6
- Analyse project timelines, resources, and dependencies to identify potential bottlenecks and propose solutions
- Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate information for schedule updates
- Monitor project progress and report variances between planned and actual performance
- Prepare and present periodic progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones and potential risks
- Conduct resource analysis and optimisation to ensure efficient utilisation of manpower and equipment
- Assist in the development of recovery plans when projects fall behind schedule
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations in Dubai
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to decision-making processes
- Maintain accurate records of all planning-related documents and revisions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum 15 years of experience in construction project planning, preferably in a site-based role
- Proficiency in project management software, particularly Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Thorough understanding of construction methodologies and techniques
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Dubai
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Willingness to work on-site and adapt to changing project requirements
