Job Purpose
Overseeing tax-related activities within an organization, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and optimizing tax strategies to minimize liabilities.
Key Accountability Areas
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Prepare, review, and submit federal, state, and local tax returns in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of tax filings, including income tax, sales tax, property tax, and other relevant taxes.
- Maintain comprehensive tax records and documentation in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Tax Research and Analysis:
- Stay informed on updates to tax laws, regulations, and industry trends.
- Conduct research and analysis to evaluate the implications of new tax legislation and emerging trends.
- Interpret tax regulations and provide actionable recommendations based on current laws.
Tax Planning and Strategy:
- Support the development of tax-efficient strategies aimed at minimizing tax liabilities while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.
- Assist in preparing tax projections and forecasts to inform management decisions and strategic planning.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to optimize tax functions and enhance overall compliance.
Audit Support:
- Assist in managing tax audits by preparing necessary documentation and coordinating with tax authorities as required.
