  • Stay informed about external factors affecting international business, including economic, cultural, geographical, procedural and regulatory developments.
  • Work with the Banker to develop relationship strategies, anticipate customer needs and deliver a superior service that strengthens HSBC’s market position.
  • Support the accurate and timely maintenance of customer information and KYC requirements in Group systems.
  • Build effective relationships with Risk Management teams to validate customer risk profiles and support sustainable asset growth.
  • Own customer engagement and consistently deliver a high-quality service in line with HSBC’s professional standards.
  • Maintain strong controls to ensure credit and other risks are appropriately mitigated, with timely action taken to minimize potential losses.
  • Stay up to date with sustainability developments and help identify, lead and deliver solutions that support customers throughout their transition journey.
  • Identify potential problem relationships at an early stage and take appropriate action to protect HSBC’s interests.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the HSBC network to deliver consistently high standards of service and quality.
  • Manage and resolve operational queries and exceptions across the assigned portfolio in a timely manner, including payments, transactions, inward cheque clearing and activity-monitoring alerts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to stakeholder queries, management information requests, reports and standard or ad hoc returns.
  • Manage the processes required to deliver agreed team plans and targets, identifying improvements and working with colleagues to maximize end-to-end integration, effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Maintain a robust control environment that supports sound operational, financial and project management, as well as compliance with HSBC policies and procedures. Identify, resolve or escalate issues promptly.
  • Support Bankers in maintaining management information, analysis and reporting to enable timely, effective business management and informed decision-making across the portfolio.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • A full-time graduation degree of at least three years is essential for obtaining a UAE visa and work permit. For degrees obtained outside the UAE, valid attestations and equivalency are also mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience and a strong track record in risk management, operations, regulatory matters, credit analysis and judgement-based lending.
  • Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Commercial Banking market, both globally and within the local market, includes the competitive landscape and competitor propositions.
  • Well-developed analytical skills, with a strong focus on credit and operational risk.
  • Proven ability to lead visibly, motivate others and influence stakeholders.
