Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE. Set to open in 2027, the resort will be located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. About the Position:
Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Carpenter to join the resort’s Theater Operations team.
The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are:
Assist in the construction and assembly of scenic elements based on technical drawings and specifications.
Support the Master Carpenter in the installation and rigging of scenery on stage and backstage areas.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on scenic elements during the production run.
Collaborate with other departments including lighting, audio, and props to ensure seamless integration of scenic components.
Participate in load-ins, load-outs, and strikes as directed by the Master Carpenter.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the scene shop and backstage.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures during construction and installation activities.
Assist with show operations as and when required / directed
Operate power tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
Assist in inventory management of scenic materials and tools.
Attend production meetings and technical rehearsals and any other duties as required.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical theatre training or certification preferred.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in theatrical carpentry or scenic construction.
Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings and construction plans.
knowledge of theatrical construction methods and stagecraft.
Experience with hand and power tools used in scenic construction.
Ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights as required.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Proficiency in carpentry techniques and scenic construction methods.
Commitment to safety and adherence to UAE health and safety standards.
