A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
Assisting the bakery team in preparing and producing a variety of breads, rolls, pastries and other baked products according to established recipes and standards.
Supporting daily bakery operations, including mixing, kneading, shaping, proofing and baking.
Preparing and organising mise-en-place to ensure smooth and timely production.
Maintaining consistent quality, taste, texture and presentation of all bakery products.
Ensuring proper storage, labelling and rotation of ingredients and finished products using the FIFO method.
Monitoring the cleanliness and proper use of bakery equipment, refrigerators, freezers and workstations.
Following food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards throughout the preparation and baking process.
Supporting the Chef de Partie and senior chefs in daily production requirements while minimising food waste.
Working closely with the culinary team to ensure bakery items are prepared on time for the resort's various dining outlets and operations.
What We need from you:
A Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Culinary Arts, Bakery or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
Previous experience in a professional bakery, preferably within a hotel, resort or high-volume kitchen.
Basic knowledge of bread-making techniques, dough preparation, proofing and baking processes.
Familiarity with bakery equipment, ingredients and food safety practices.
A willingness to learn, develop new skills and follow instructions from senior chefs.
Good teamwork, communication and time management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, including weekends, holidays and flexible shifts.
A positive attitude, attention to detail and a genuine passion for baking.
