About Soum
Soum is a fast-growing B2C marketplace based in Riyadh, connecting buyers and sellers of used electronics and used cars across Saudi Arabia through our website and mobile app. Everything we do is built on trust: buyers need confidence in what they are getting, and sellers need confidence they will be paid fairly and quickly. With the recent launch of our subscription model for electronics and cars, Soum is building the go-to recommerce platform in the Kingdom.
About the Role
The Consumer Product Manager owns the experience our customers touch every day: how buyers discover, evaluate, pay for and receive a used phone or car, and how sellers list, price and get paid for what they sell. You will be the voice of the Soum customer inside the product team, turning deep consumer insight into features that grow conversion, repeat purchase and trust in the platform.
You will work across the app and web, partnering with design, engineering, operations and commercial teams to ship quickly and learn from what we ship.
Key Responsibilities
Own the roadmap for a core consumer area (such as the buyer journey, the seller journey or subscriptions), prioritising ruthlessly by impact on conversion, retention, GMV and customer trust.
Build a deep, continuous understanding of Soum's customers through user interviews, usability testing, app reviews, customer support tickets and behavioural data.
Optimise the end-to-end marketplace funnel: listing creation, search and discovery, product pages, checkout and payments (Mada, Apple Pay, BNPL), delivery tracking, returns and post-purchase experience.
Design and improve trust features that make buying used feel safe, including device condition grading, car inspection reports, verified sellers, buyer protection, ratings and transparent pricing.
Shape the subscription products for electronics and cars: the value proposition, packaging, onboarding, engagement and retention, working closely with Commercial and Finance on unit economics.
Translate problems into clear PRDs, user stories and acceptance criteria, and run agile delivery with design and engineering, from discovery through release and iteration.
Champion an Arabic-first, bilingual experience with high-quality RTL design and localisation for Saudi customers.
Run a disciplined experimentation practice: form hypotheses, design A/B tests, define success metrics and make fast, evidence-based decisions on what to scale or kill.
Monitor and report on core consumer KPIs, including conversion rate, listing-to-sale rate, activation, repeat purchase, subscription retention, NPS and customer complaints.
Partner cross-functionally with Operations (inspection, logistics, customer service), Marketing and Growth (acquisition, CRM), and Finance to make sure product changes work end to end, not just on screen.
Keep a close eye on regional and global marketplaces and recommerce players, and bring the best ideas back to Soum, adapted for our customers.
Requirements
2–4 years of product management experience on consumer-facing digital products such as marketplaces, e-commerce, fintech or consumer apps.
A proven track record of shipping consumer features that moved measurable business metrics, and the ability to explain exactly how.
Strong consumer intuition backed by data: comfortable with product analytics tools (e.g. Amplitude, Mixpanel, GA4), funnel analysis and A/B testing; working SQL is a strong plus.
Hands-on experience building for mobile (iOS and Android) and web.
Solid understanding of two-sided marketplace dynamics, including supply and demand balance, liquidity, trust and pricing.
Experience working closely with designers and engineers in an agile environment, with clear written specs and sharp prioritisation.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management, able to align operations, commercial and tech teams around a decision.
A true owner who moves fast, takes decisions with incomplete information and cares more about outcomes than output.
Fluent English; Arabic is a strong plus.
Nice to Have
Experience with KSA or GCC consumers, Arabic/RTL products and local payment methods.
Background in used goods, recommerce, automotive or subscription businesses.
