The Excellence Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the Department of Energy’s Excellence Framework and for conducting excellence-related activities, including promoting a culture of excellence, self-assessment, analysis, and benchmarking.

This role involves collaborating with senior specialists, analyzing feedback, and identifying areas for improvement to drive continuous excellence throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing the Excellence Framework, guiding the excellence improvement cycle.
- Support the Senior Excellence Specialist in creating awareness sessions about the framework.
- Produce reports and presentations, analyzing feedback, and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Assist applicants with AD Excellence Award applications and collaborate with directorates for suggestions.
- Analyze comprehensive reports from the AD award office and provide insights for improvement initiatives.
- Provide coaching and training to all directorates on business excellence topics.
- Recommend and support directorates/sections in achieving business excellence, offering guidance on initiatives.
- Facilitate benchmarking of OKRs, targets, policies, and practices at local and international levels.
- Conduct organizational assessments to evaluate the adoption of excellence practices within the DOE.
- Participate in knowledge transfer and coaching, ensuring directorates understand excellence concepts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Strategy, Strategic Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in organizational consulting, project management, program development, presentation, and evaluation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and educate diverse audiences.
- A proactive and results-driven approach, with a passion for continuous improvement and excellence.
- Experience in developing and implementing awareness programs or training sessions is preferred.
- Familiarity with benchmarking practices and the ability to establish effective mechanisms.
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools and techniques for improvement initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
