Position Overview
We are welcoming expressions of interest from outstanding High School Art Teachers interested in joining Dubai American Academy from August 2027.
We are particularly keen to hear from experienced American curriculum and/or IB educators who are passionate about academic excellence and inspiring confident, curious learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive Art lessons to high school students, following the school's curriculum and educational standards.
- Develop and implement creative and effective teaching strategies to inspire a love for Art and foster critical thinking skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Ensure continuity in the delivery of curriculum content.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and exploration.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment opportunities and professional learning.
Skills Description
Successful Candidate
- Hold a Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree together with a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, State License, or equivalent specialising in Art.
- Have proven experience teaching Art at High School level, ideally within an American or IB curriculum school.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning and practical Art instruction.
- Be an excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- Show a commitment to continually improve their practice and deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences for their students.
