The posting

As published on dow.com. Pulled from the employer's site and shown as they wrote it.

At Dow, we believe in putting people first and we’re passionate about delivering integrity, respect and safety to our customers, our employees and the planet.

Our people are at the heart of our solutions. They reflect the communities we live in and the world where we do business. Their diversity is our strength. We’re a community of relentless problem solvers that offers the daily opportunity to contribute with your perspective, transform industries and shape the future. Our purpose is simple - to deliver a sustainable future for the world through science and collaboration. If you’re looking for a challenge and meaningful role, you’re in the right place.

About you and this role:

The Middle East is entering a new phase of growth, fueled by economic diversification, localized manufacturing and investment in advanced industries. This is creating demand for high-performance silicone and specialty-material solutions across applications such as digital infrastructure, mobility, construction and industrial processing.

Dow Consumer Solutions brings a broad portfolio of silicone and specialty-material solutions across applications including thermal management, electronic protection, sealing and bonding, coatings, elastomers, personal care, infrastructure, industrial processing and other performance-critical uses.

As a Market Developer, Strategic Growth Opportunities – Middle East, will identify, shape and validate new opportunities where Dow Consumer Solutions has a strong right to win. The preferred location is Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

In this B2B role, you will combine market and customer insight, external engagement, technical understanding and commercial judgment. Working with Sales, TS&D, R&D, Product Management and Marketing, you will translate validated market opportunities into development roadmaps, with clear priorities, entry approaches and capability needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify emerging market opportunities across priority industries, applications and value chains.
  • Create a fact-based opportunity landscape by assessing market attractiveness, customer needs, value-chain structure, competitive intensity, regulatory developments, technology trends, route-to-market options and Dow’s ability to win.
  • Prioritize opportunities using clear strategic, commercial and capability criteria, and translate the strongest opportunities into market development roadmaps, business cases and measurable growth programs.
  • Develop market and customer segmentation, value propositions, competitive positioning, portfolio recommendations, pricing hypotheses and go-to-market approaches for selected opportunities.
  • Build and manage a disciplined pipeline of market development projects, with clear stages, assumptions, milestones, resource needs, risks, value potential and decision points.
  • Partner with Sales, TS&D, R&D and Product Management to design and test entry models, including direct customer development, partnerships, channel strategies, local value-chain collaborations and other approaches that can accelerate market access and scale.
  • Provide market feedback to shape innovation, portfolio and capability priorities, including where Dow should invest, localize, partner, reposition or stop work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, engineering, business, marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic marketing, market development, business development, product management, or a related B2B role.
  • Experience in silicones, specialty chemicals, advanced materials or another technically differentiated industry serving industrial or consumer value chains.
  • Knowledge of Middle East business environments and value chains, with the ability to navigate across countries, industries, customers and routes to market.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess ambiguous market spaces, synthesize external evidence and translate insight into strategic choices, business cases and executable growth plans.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including market segmentation and sizing, customer value creation, competitive positioning, profitability & portfolio thinking.
  • Experience developing new business through customer engagement, specifier influence, partnerships, channels and effective cross-functional collaboration in a matrix organization.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required.

Your skills:

  • Strategic opportunity assessment: Structure broad and uncertain market spaces, test assumptions and identify where Dow can create differentiated and profitable growth.
  • Entrepreneurial ownership: Explore new possibilities, move from insight to action and maintain momentum without waiting for a fully established market structure.
  • Market and value-chain insight: Understand how needs, influence, specifications, economics and purchasing decisions move through complex ecosystems.
  • Customer and external orientation: Build strong relationships, listen for unmet needs and use external evidence to improve business decisions.
  • Technical-to-commercial translation: Connect application requirements and technical differentiation to compelling value propositions and revenue
  • Marketing and portfolio thinking: Segment opportunities, clarify choices and recommend where to invest, partner, localize, reposition or deprioritize.
  • Commercialization excellence: Turn selected opportunities into disciplined growth projects with clear milestones, ownership, pipeline value and follow-through.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Mobilize commercial, technical, operational and global teams without relying on formal authority.

Additional Notes:

  • Domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Relocation assistance, including visas and immigration support, is not available for this position.
  • Please submit your application in English.
