Summary
Artelia is an international engineering, consulting and project management group working across infrastructure, buildings, mobility, water and energy. The Mechanical Design Engineer will design building utilities for aviation projects, including airport terminals, MRO hangars and control towers, and support projects from concept through construction and commissioning. The role includes plumbing and compressed air system design, engineering calculations, BMS coordination, BIM modeling and clash detection, as well as securing local authority approvals. Applicants should have 7–10 years of mechanical design experience, preferably on UAE or GCC projects, and be proficient in Revit, Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

WHY ARTELIA?
Join Artelia, an international engineering, consulting and project management group delivering complex and sustainable projects across infrastructure, buildings, mobility, water and energy.
In the Middle East, you’ll join a multicultural and growing environment where you can take ownership and make a visible impact.
THE ROLE
The mechanical Engineer will perform mechanical design using international standards along with the local regulations. He will provide mechanical engineering building utilities design for aviation related projects including airport terminals, MRO hangars and control towers.
The Mechanical Engineer supports all project design phases—from concept to construction and commissioning—ensuring compliance with local authority regulations, aviation requirements, and international standards.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Design & Engineering
- System Design: Lead the design of comprehensive plumbing systems and compressed air systems (HVAC design experience is a strong plus).
- Engineering Calculations: Perform precise calculations for flow rates, pressure heads, and pipe sizing.
- Controls & Automation: Develop controls, sequences of operations, and Building Management System (BMS) integrations.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs strictly comply with relevant engineering codes and standards.
Authorities & Approvals
- Permitting: Manage and secure necessary local authority approvals, NOCs, and permits for design documents.
BIM & Digital Coordination
- Modeling: Competently utilize BIM software throughout the entire design lifecycle.
- Coordination: Run clash detection and coordination processes using Navisworks and cloud platforms (BIM 360 / ACC).
WHAT YOU BRING
- 7-10 years in mechanical design, heavily focused on UAE/GCC projects (Aviation experience highly preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering eligible for MOE recognition; UAE Society of Engineers membership is preferred.
- UAE authority requirements (DM, DCD, DEWA, etc.)
- Mastery of Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud platforms.
- Exceptional problem-solving traits, high adaptability, and the ability to collaborate under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
