Job Overview
Responsible for tire maintenance and repairs to all vehicles/equipment on site
Responsibilities and Duties
- Check pressures and inflating tires as and when required/daily maintenance of tires
- Removing and installing wheels/rims from equipment as per safe working procedures
- Removing and installing tyres from rims as per safe working procedures
- Repairing tires with use of gators/patches/vulcanising where needed
- Complying with all safe work procedures and risk assessments at all times
- Assist with wheel alignments when required
Qualification
Education Level: Technical training/high school
Years of Experience: 5 Plus
Specific Skills / Competencies
- English language proficiency
- Tyre fitting experience and qualifications
- Physically fit and strong
- Reading and writing skills
- Required Licenses and Certifications (Optional/If position required):
- NCC, O-Level, Tyre Maintenance Training.
- A Valid vehicle drivers license
- Senior Certificate, equivalent to Grade 12 (SA)
- 2 Years experience as tyre fitter or
- 1 Year of Supervisory experience
- Minimum of 2 years Off The Road earthmoving tyre experience.
