RECRUITMENT PACK / THE ROLE
Senior Athletics Coach – for Girls
ASPIRE ACADEMY · DOHA, QATAR
About the role
Aspire Academy is seeking a FEMALE candidate to guide the next stage of its Girls’ Track & Field Athletics Programme in Doha. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will coach young athletes, support the people who coach them, and bring a clear direction to a growing programme. You will help girls progress from their first structured experience of Athletics towards event-specific training and competition.
You will lead the coaching plan across the Foundation, Advanced and Performance groups. Working with the other coaches, you will shape an age-appropriate curriculum, agree individual athlete plans and coordinate training, testing, talent identification and competition. You will coach the Throws on a daily basis, give colleagues useful feedback and help athletes and families understand what progression requires. You will also work with schools and talent identification staff to find girls with long-term potential.
We are looking for substantial experience in Track & Field coaching, a strong understanding of long-term athlete development, and evidence that you can lead and develop other coaches. You should be able to plan across a season, communicate clearly with colleagues, athletes and parents, and work effectively in Qatar’s multicultural environment. Expertise in throws is particularly desirable, especially the ability to develop young hammer and discus throwers, while retaining oversight of the full Athletics programme.
The programme needs someone who can balance ambition with good judgement. Athletes develop at different rates, and decisions about training load, event focus and competition must reflect their age, training history, physical development and wellbeing. You will bring together coaching, strength and conditioning, physiotherapy and other specialist support so that each athlete has a coherent plan. Athlete welfare and a safe training environment are part of that responsibility.
Strong programme administration is also essential. You will keep written plans, schedules and athlete information organised; track attendance and competition activity; prepare updates for colleagues; and follow through on agreed actions. You should be confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook to manage information, communicate clearly and support the programme’s daily operations.
The opportunity is to build consistency in a pathway that already has committed athletes, established training groups and growing competition experience. Your success will be seen in the quality of daily coaching, athlete progression and retention, the development of colleagues, and the readiness of girls to compete at higher levels.
