Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Partner to lead and grow our Restructuring, Performance Improvement, and Turnaround (RPT) practice in the Middle East. RPT is one of the key business lines of Roland Berger globally.

Role purpose

Drive rapid stabilization, liquidity protection, and operational turnaround for corporates, SOEs, lenders, and investors across the Middle East, while shaping the practice’s strategy, offerings, and sector focus. This includes setting go‑to‑market for special situations, restructurings, and performance improvement programs.

Key responsibilities

  • Originate and lead complex restructurings: independent business reviews, liquidity and cash control, options analysis, out‑of‑court workouts, contingency planning, and formal processes where applicable.
  • Advise boards, CFOs, and creditor groups on capital structure solutions, debt renegotiations, stakeholder strategies, and turnaround plans grounded in robust diagnostics.
  • Oversee execution of 100‑day plans: working capital unlock, SG&A and opex reductions, footprint and portfolio actions, and revenue recovery levers with measurable benefits.
  • Lead multi‑stakeholder negotiations among lenders, bondholders, PE sponsors, SWFs, and regulators; manage information flows and decision forums under tight timelines.
  • Assure quality across workstreams: business plan reviews, financial model challenge, liquidity forecasting, scenario planning, and value‑creation roadmaps.
  • Build and mentor a high‑performing team across restructuring, corporate finance, and operations; set staffing model, capabilities, and performance standards.
  • Manage practice economics: pipeline, pricing, risk, realization, and margin; shape alliances with law firms, banks, and special situations funds in KSA/UAE.
  • Represent the firm with media and ecosystem partners on restructuring and turnaround topics to establish thought leadership and market trust.
  • Liaise and collaborate with global RPT practice

Qualifications

Required experience

  • 15–20+ years across restructuring/turnaround, corporate finance, or special situations consulting, with leadership of large cross‑border engagements in GCC.
  • Track record advising companies and creditors on complex operational restructuring solutions, and rapid performance improvement.
  • Deep hands‑on exposure to business reviews, liquidity management, business plan development, valuation and scenario analysis, and contingency planning.
  • Sector depth in priority Middle East industries (e.g., real estate, construction, industrials, energy transport, healthcare, consumer), plus public/sovereign stakeholders.
  • At least 5 years work experience in the Middle East.

Skills and attributes

  • Crisis leadership under ambiguity; decisive call‑making on cash, scope, and stakeholder strategy during live negotiations.
  • Advanced financial and operational acumen: modeling oversight, liquidity forecasting, covenant analysis, and operational turnaround levers.
  • Exceptional C‑suite and creditor negotiation skills; credible with boards, commercial banks, investment banks, PE/SWFs, and regulators in the region.
  • Ability to operate under ambiguity and time pressure, making decisive calls on scope, resources, and risk.
  • Inclusive people leader who can attract, develop, and retain top transaction talent and foster strong collaboration with other practices.
