Senior Planning Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and establish timelines.
• Analyze project progress and performance, identifying potential delays and recommending corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on project status, progress, and forecasts for senior management and stakeholders.
• Implement best practices in planning and scheduling, ensuring compliance with NEOM’s standards and policies.
• Lead planning meetings and workshops, facilitating discussions and resolving conflicts among project team members.
• Utilize advanced planning tools and software to enhance project visibility and control.
• Mentor and guide junior planning engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in planning methodologies to continuously improve project delivery.

• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of resources and materials.
• Develop work breakdown structures (WBS) and project charters to clearly define project scope and deliverables.
• Review and validate contractors’ and consultants’ schedules to ensure they align with project requirements and timelines.
• Assist in the preparation of project budget estimates and track project expenditures against budget.
• Perform "what-if" analysis to evaluate the impact of potential changes or delays on project timelines.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that project milestones meet quality standards.
• Participate in client meetings and provide planning insights and updates as needed.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
• Support change management processes by assessing the impact of scope changes on project schedules and budgets.
• Analyze historical project data to inform future planning and decision-making processes.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
• Proficiency in planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
• Experience working in an international or multicultural environment is a plus.
