Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces of pressure vessels for painting by cleaning, sanding, and removing rust or old paint as necessary.
- Apply protective coatings and finishes to pressure vessels using spray painting techniques to meet quality standards.
- Operate and maintain spray painting equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure it meets project specifications and quality requirements.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while handling paint and blasting materials to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other team members to coordinate and optimize workflow in the painting and blasting areas.
- Document work performed, including materials used and time spent on tasks, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a spray painter or blaster, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of painting and blasting techniques, particularly relating to pressure vessel fabrication.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations associated with handling chemicals and hazardous materials.
