  • Serve as a day-to-day Compliance & Ethics business partner for the supported market(s), providing practical, risk-based guidance on business activities and compliance requirements, with support from Compliance & Ethics leadership as needed.
  • Identify, assess, and escalate potential compliance risks, and support the development of appropriate risk-mitigation measures in coordination with relevant business and functional stakeholders.
  • Support local implementation and execution of BMS global Compliance & Ethics programs, initiatives, systems, processes, and controls.
  • Partner with Legal and other relevant functions to provide coordinated, high-quality advice and support to market business operations.
  • Support Compliance Committee activities for GCC, including preparing inputs, supporting follow-up, and helping ensure effective governance, risk identification, monitoring, and escalation in line with established governance processes.
  • Contribute to compliance oversight activities related to applicable local procedures, education, training, strategic communications, monitoring, and analytics, in coordination with the global Compliance & Ethics organization and other relevant functions.
  • Support periodic compliance risk assessments and help translate identified risks into appropriate work-plan priorities and risk-mitigation activities.
  • Conduct or help coordinate risk-based monitoring and support internal audits, due diligence reviews, and other assurance activities. Support follow-up and remediation actions, as appropriate.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the supported business, applicable laws, regulations, industry codes, enforcement developments, and emerging compliance risks.
  • Support a speak-up culture and help promote awareness of available channels for raising questions and concerns.
  • Participate in relevant industry associations or external bodies, as appropriate and in alignment with BMS requirements, to maintain awareness of compliance developments and contribute to aligned BMS positions on Compliance & Ethics matters.
  • Contribute to the execution of regional and global Compliance & Ethics priorities within the supported market(s), helping ensuring timely local follow-through and alignment with agreed standards.
  • Escalate significant compliance risks, trends, and matters to appropriate Compliance & Ethics leadership in accordance with established governance processes.
  • Collaborate across markets and with regional and global Compliance & Ethics colleagues to share insights, support consistency, and leverage good practices.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience. A professional qualification in compliance, law, accounting, audit, risk management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience in Compliance & Ethics in a highly regulated industry. Relevant experience may be combined with legal, internal audit, monitoring, risk management, controls, or other related disciplines.
  • Compliance & Ethics experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, industry codes, and compliance risks relevant to the supported market(s).
