Job Summary:
The Cashier ensures a smooth and efficient checkout experience by accurately processing customer transactions and handling cash and electronic payments. Job duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greet customers at the checkout and provide courteous, professional assistance to ensure a positive experience.
- Accurately scan and bag items, ensuring correct pricing and careful handling of fragile or perishable products.
- Process payments efficiently via cash, credit/debit cards, and other approved methods.
- Handle cash responsibly, including counting, providing accurate change, and balancing the cash drawer.
- Verify barcodes and report any discrepancies for correction.
- Maintain knowledge of store products, pricing, and promotions to assist customers effectively.
- Address inquiries and resolve complaints professionally, escalating issues to the supervisor when needed.
- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and in line with store standards.
